Writer
Writing for over twenty years, Cheryl specializes in personal essays and memoir. Her book, The Survivor Tree: Inspired by a True Story is available now on-line. She also contributed two essays to the book From the Heart: A Collection of Stories and Poems From the Front Lines of Parenting, which donated all proceeds to children's charities.
Cheryl is widely published in magazines, newspapers and on-line journals.
Instructor
Cheryl has taught memoir writing for Johns Hopkins University and for several Northern Virginia community centers and writing conferences, including the Cape Cod Writers' Conference in August, 2010.
She creates a comfortable and safe classroom environment that allows students to share their moving personal stories. Arlington County officials describe Cheryl as a "warm and talented instructor."
